Joseph Altwer is a traditional realist oil painter born in California 1984. He was educated in Italy at the Florence Academy of art, where he also taught for several years. He was trained by working from the nude model with a strong foundation in drawing. Besides painting the human figure, he also paints still lives and landscapes. Joseph's style of painting has a foundation in traditional techniques with an impressionist pallet, in which most of his paints, canvases and mediums are made himself. Joseph prefers to work from life, since he considers it to be the true source of beauty. Today Joseph's work is represented in galleries internationally. Most currently at the Grenning Gallery in Sag Harbor New York.
